Lynn’s contributions as a member of the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) and with the Canadian Labour Congress have been commendable, and this well-deserved honour acknowledges her significant impact on the labour landscape. Through her tireless efforts, Lynn has championed workers’ rights, advocated for fair and safe working conditions, and fostered an environment of inclusivity and equality. Lynn is one of ten children in a family of community leaders. She has been a lifelong civil and human rights activist, educator, community and labour organizer, and an inspiring speaker. Beyond her invaluable work in the labour movement, Lynn has been a beacon of inspiration in various other spheres. Her commitment to environmental concerns, archival preservation of African Nova Scotian history, and combating gentrification have further exemplified her dedication to building a just and equitable society.
Lynn’s appointment to the Order of Canada is a testament to her unwavering resolve, compassion, and leadership.
