Take the pledge to get involved.

Nova Scotia’s employment laws are woefully out of date and out of step with the current job market. Did you know they have NOT been looked at in their entirety since 1972, that’s a long time? The Nova Scotia Federation of Labour is campaigning to change our Labour Standards in Nova Scotia. Part-time, temporary and contract jobs are becoming the norm, along with erratic scheduling and contract-flipping. Workers also face major barriers to joining and keeping a union.  We now have before us an opportunity to come together and lobby to make the changes that we need to modernize NS labour Standards for now and for the workers of the future. Together we can create a fairer, more equitable economy.

Sign the pledge as your commitment to getting involved in the campaign to raise the bar for all workers, in all jobs and sectors, right across the province.

I pledge to:

  1. Get involved in the Make It Fair Lobby campaign in my community, through my local union and my labour council;
  2. Talk to my co-workers, family members and friends about the need to change employment laws;
  3. Work alongside community partners, including the $15 and Fairness campaign;
  4. I know that by working together, we can achieve the changes that workers need.
