Lots of wonderful events are happening in Nova Scotia on Labour Day, Here are the all the details…

Halifax:

On Monday September 4th, the Halifax-Dartmouth & District Labour Council (HDDLC) will host their Labour Day March, Rally, Free BBQ Picnic & Community Concert in Halifax. Gather at 10:30am at Victoria Park on Spring Garden and join the march at 11:00am from Victoria Park to the South Commons Triangle. Rally, free BBQ & music concert to follow from 12:00 noon onwards at the South Commons Triangle (for more information, see http://Facebook.com/HalifaxLabour). Port Hawkesbury

The Strait Area Labour Council is having their Labour Day celebration on Monday September 4th from 2 – 3 pm at the Unifor Union Hall (formerly the CEP union hall) at 323 Reeves Street in Port Hawkesbury. BBQ, face-painting, Music, free food and giveaways. Families welcome! Kentville

The Annapolis Valley Labour Council Labour Day Picnic is being held on Monday September 4th from 11 am – 2 pm at Memorial Park on Park St. in Kentville. The Labour Day picnic in Kentville will have live music, bounce kingdom, dunk tank with prize wheel, face-painting, balloon making, jimmy dogs, chicken and pig roast. Bridgewater

The South Shore Labour Council’s Labour Day event will be held in Bridgewater on Monday September 4th from noon – 2 pm at King’s Court, 646 Kings Street. There will be community music and a BBQ. Sydney, Cape Breton

The Cape Breton District Labour Council Labour Day event will be held at the Open Hearth Park in Sydney on Monday September 4th from 12 noon to 2 pm.  There will be games, face painting and a magic show for the children, a BBQ, and much more fun!

Yarmouth

The South West Labour Group is organizing the annual Yarmouth Labour Day event which will be held at Frost Park, Main St. Yarmouth, directly across from the Rodd Grand Hotel on Monday September 4th from 11 am – 2 pm. Amherst

A group of local unions in the Amherst area, led and coordinated by the United Steelworkers Union, are organizing the annual Amherst Labour Day event, which will be held on Monday September 4th at Dickey Park in Amherst from 12 noon – 4 pm.
